The E-CANNON project (Efficient Coupling of Atoms to Nanophotonic Waveguide) explores an innovative method for connecting quantum emitters to photonic waveguides using ultra-cold rubidium (87Rb) gas. By optically controlling the atomic quantum states with specific lasers, the project aims to demonstrate a proof of concept combining single-mode guiding and single-photon emission.
Led by the LP2N, this project opens up new perspectives for applications in quantum simulation, quantum processor interconnection, and quantum memories, while relying on partnerships with Aerodiode, AUREA, and Toptica for technological development.
